The Arc Of Indiana County

The Arc of Indiana County was established in 1973. This non-profit agency provides information, education and support for people with developmental disabilities and for their families. We believe that the earlier a child receives the appropriate programs and services, within the community, the greater the opportunity for the child to grow up happy and successful. The Arc can assist the parents and children in several ways:
Quality education and appropriate services require a collaborative effort. We encourage and support positive communication between parents, students, educators and agencies. For adults with disabilities, we can provide information about supports and services so you can make informed decisions to help you have the life you want. The Arc works at the national, state and local level to monitor laws and regulations that affect people with disabilities. We discuss disability issues with local legislators. The Arc sponsors seminars, workshops and fairs to increase public awareness on disability issues. The Arc of Indiana County conducts satisfaction surveys with people who are receiving mental retardation services. We welcome volunteers to support our activities and to serve on our Legislative, Education, Community Outreach, and Public Awareness Committees.
